I have, what I believe to be a mid 20's to mid 30's Sterling engine. Engine is missing the flywheel cover and shift lever. Not looking for a lot of money and any offer would be considered. Mainly I just want to find it a good home.

Greetings all,
Keith and I have been talking for a few days and I may not have been clear enough with him. This engine is not a Sterling but IS a Scripps model F4 or Model 84. They are the same engine, different nomenclature.

As it seems that it is missing the flywheel cover, I am wondering if the cover would fit considering that this engine has a right angle drive and a Magneto compared to the usual Delco distributor.
The F4 came in medium and slow speed versions delivering between 25 to 40 HP at at a lowwr RPM rating. The HS version of the F4 and the model 84 were high speed delivering up to 75 HP at 3,000 RPM. The ID plate is missing from the Port side top-front of the block. But otherwise, this engine is very complete and original. |

I did contact Keith and am buying the motor from him. Hope I can make a good runner out of it, I think it will work great in the 1921 25 foot wooden launch I have. Thanks for the concern. I will be looking for additional info, manuals,parts and other data once I get it apart. |

Sierra Boat Company on Lake Tahoe may have a parts motor including a flywheel cover. I will look through my docs to see what I might have.
