Hi! Is there already discussion going on or gone..? I'm a little bit confused about how will I get sufficient lubrication to all places of the engine. What kind of extra walls and where to put to prevent the oil going to fast to the rearside of oil pan. Am I even going to the right direction in my thinking?! The set is from finnish torpedoboat round year 1960. These motors (2/boat) were used to get the boat from harbour to sea and then to start the italian isotta-francini motors.. if somebody is interested. |

The oiling should be ok. I had a Flathead in my 23 foot runabout and although it was old and tired it performed reasonably well, under the circumstances. I don't know how the engine is placed in the boat in your case. If the shaft is at an angle there would be a fitting between the carburetor and the intake manifold so the carb would be level, so the float bowl would work. This looks like it was taken straight out of the car. Perhaps the shaft has a uinversal joint. |

Foxman! The shaft will be at an angle in my boat, so your advice to use a fitting is pretty useful. You wrote that oiling should be ok, but I'm still a little bit worried about sufficient oiling. As the engine is at an angle... |
