Very close to running the Chevron. Carbs were difficult. John at the Carburetor Shop in Eldon Mo. Has excellent kits. He says Carter BB-1D's were introduced in 1946 and never used by Sterling as OEM.
Found some useful info at the Smithsonian but nothing newer than 1931 and nothing about twin carbs on a four cyl.
So the search for ID goes on.
