Hello all. I'm new to the post board and hope to gain some knowledge and share when I can. I have a 1957 Resorter that I am beginning to restore. The engine appears to have been replaced with what I am assuming is a factory rebuild. The tag on the engine is stamped R 30928S. I included a few pictures. Im certain it is a Crown M47S. The block has the classic cracks between the water jacket expansion plugs. Everything else APPEARS to be intact. I have found a 1957 250 flathead engine out of a Desoto that is in excellent condition. I have two questions. 1. Has anyone run across a Chrysler marine engine with this ID plate? 2. Has anyone tried converting the Chrysler car/truck engine to a marine application? Looking at the block there will be some obvious challenges but I have the resources to make modifications as needed. Is there any reason not to give this a try? Thanks in advance Dave
