Who is the Universal 4 cyl engine Guru here? Did Universal cast their own blocks? Is there still a working web site for Universal Engine History?? Where can rebuild parts be found for other than Atomic four engines? THanks |

Bruce, Not an expert but I sure worked on a ton of them way back when. I think the early ones were mostly all universal. Starting in the 50s they were mostly if not all Hercules blocks. They also Marinised the 225 cu in Buick V6 The current Universal engines are Kubota Marinised by Westerbeke in Taunton, MA I just found this on the net http://www.shadowmagic3d.com/BlackSwan/uh.html Hope this helps Ernie |
