Richard D or anyone helpful: I'm not having any more luck finding what happened to Automatic than I am Westman; the latest reference so far is 1922 or so, altho some of my catalogs list 33-34 Automatic engines. Does anyone know, just off the top of their head, what became of Automatic?? Any comments appreciated. Many thxx!! Bud |

* This 1925 ad is the latest I find on a quick look ? after late 1925 Automatic Mach Co. is listed in the magazine indexs but no page number-meaning that the Co. did not submit an ad, after 1927 the Co's. name does not show up in any indexes ? Company could very well still be mfgring engines but certainly shut down advertising ?

Richard: Many thx for addt'l info--that's the only ad I've seen that refers to heavy oil engines, the others referring to gasoline or kerosens or not mentioning fuel. I did note a 1909 ad on Denis Rouleau's Canadian site mentioned "engines to operate with producer gas to 2000 HP" I'm emailing Denis to see if he knows what happened to the company. |

Separate timing gear for each cylinder. I'm aware that at least one West Coast vessel was Automatic powered. Here's a 1909 four. |
