Good question. I've seen this same engine with Fay Bowen on the gear cover.( Fay Bowen Rocket) Fay Bowen engine division was sold and moved to Philadelphia around 1928- I'm told JVB was in Red Bank NJ in those years. Can anyone articulate the connection between Van Blerk and Fay Bowen engine Co. Keith B or John R ??????

David, Put the word "Rocket" in the search function at the top for discussion on this engine.

Bruce: Fay & Bowen partners were Walter Fay and Ernest Bowen. The company was liquidated and reorganized as FayBow. I only found one patent filed by Van Blerck it was for a intake manifold.

Correct on Fay Bowen. The engine division sold/moved to Philadelphia .The reorganized Fay Bow company moved forward with more contemporary designs using Continental and Lycoming power. Put Fay Bowen Rocket in the search function above and read Keith's comments on his F-B Rocket and the Philadelphia company address shared with Van Blerk.

I have a poor copy of an add of his from Red Bank NJ. I'm a bit curious about that connection as I grew up right near there (there is no actual address on the ad).

Could not find a street address for Van Blerck in Red Bank. He also had another office in West Bank, N.J.

Try to Google: farm collector magazine- Life of Joseph Van Blerk. There' a 7 page article on Joe van Blerk and his many engine ventures. Not a complete history-no mention of the F&B connection to the ROCKET and ROCKET JR. but lots of discussion on it.
