Don't know if this's any help... A couple of my parts catalogs show the Red Wing Meteor 7-18 HP (the only Meteor they list)came with a Wauk ICK or ICL 4cyl, I believe a flathead altho I have no pic...both are 21/2x31/8... The ICK was by far the most popular, used in some Arnolts (with the ICL), in the Red Wing Arrowhead Jr (and probably others, as my stuff is weak on marine) as well as small forklifts. as starter engines for Wauk's bigger engines, ad nauseum...the ICL doesn't show nearly as often. |

Hello Sparpro - your best source of info for things Red Wing is Harry Munson in Red Wing, MN. If you provide your serial numbers and $20 he will send you the complete history of the engine(s) and a 77 page manual. Since the block is a Waukasha there are some parts available. The electrical stuff is all available either used or rebuilt from NAPA or eBay. Harry Munson Jr. P.O. Box 391 Red Wing, MN 55066 651.388.3391 [email protected] Bob Price |

I have a 1940 Vintage Waukesha ICK (4) cyl gas engine (20HP).. This engine is 100% brand new..never run, It is 90% assembled with all the parts to complete.. I have pics if you are interested..I also have lots of spare parts for the same engine,, pistions rings carbs ignitions starters , head gaskets ect.. Everything is rust free, always stored in a heated structure... It is located in Northern Illinois. I don't want to see it just scrapped...Let me know if you would like to see pics..This was used in small boats once upon a time.... I also have original documets, spec sheets, parts maunauls, engine prints.. |

Would you have a spare starter motor for the engine? It is a Delco 1109607, two bolt flange, 6VDC Thanks Bob Price 518.895.8954 |

Hello , newbie here. Have recently acquired several beautiful complete marine engines. One is complete and in a beautifully constructed boat It is a four cylinder Red Wing I am hoping to learn more about it. Are the Red Wing 6volt of 12 Volt systems? I see a post above for a starter and Robert mentioned 6volts? Thank you in advance. |

The Redwings are 6V engines. You can convert the engine to 12V ( coil, solenoid) and you can use 12V on a 6V starter. In fact it turns the engine over smartly so it starts better. Some folks like to be " authentic" and retain the 6V stuff in the boat, but there is an easy way to use 12V on the starter with a second 6V battery. I've used that for the past 30 years on a Buchanan Midget engine. I also added a Pertronix 6V electronic kit to replace the timer points / capacitor - makes the engine work much better. Miro |
