I'm looking for information on the engines used in the 27' steel "Bouy Boats" built by the erie canal system during the 1920's thru 1930's. The earliest was a 2 cylinder Redwing. most of these were in the earlier wooden "bouy Boats" built prior to 1925. The second is a 21 hp Lathrop ( 3 cyl I think) most of these were purchased between 1932 and 1952 and have serial numbers between 9000 and 19000. NY state bought 80 or more of these engines. I'm not sure if these are manufacture numbers or numbers assigned by the canal authority. I'm looking for operating discription, specifications, pictures or what ever I can find out. To anyone having an interest in these engines and thier use in this particular boat I will share the information I have upon request Thanks in advance Rich |
