Does anyone have any info on Evinrudes 2cyl Inboards? I have one what was on a Wajax pump. Got it all cleaned up and painted. The only thing missing is the carb. Any ideas?

Toyman,

I'm not sure who made the carb on these Evinrudes. Below are some photos of my Dad's 2hp water cooled Evinrude in a Merry Garden Cultivator made by the Atlantic Machine & Mfg Co. Cleveland, Ohio sometime around the 1920's. Maybe the photos will help with your search for a carburetor.

This thing doesn't go in the water very well but it cultivates the ground pretty good.

Wow! I just posted photos of a cultivator on a marine engine site...Is that allowed?

toyman, just to get it running, any contemporary carb for about the right size motor would work. What are the dimensions for the intake manifold? if it is a 1 inch pipe thread, I would put a schebler d on it. Those engines are not uncommon, I see them on a regular basis at auctions and engine shows around here. Do a search on smokstak for pacific pumper.

Thanks for your help. I was going to make an adapter to put a carb off a 2cyl military engine on it for now to get it running. It would look kind of strange though.

Toyman,

Does your engine have Evinrude or Wajax cast on the block? I just acquired one of these outfits in Sept. It has a Tillotson carb no. MS4B which I believe is origional. I'm looking for an operators manual/parts list. Any chance you might have one I could have copied?

Bill,

My engine has Evinrude cast into the exhaust manifold. The manual I do not have, I don't even have a pump to go with it. I read something the other day that said a fellow had a manual and would copy it for $1.00 per page. As soon as I track it down again I'll post the info. Are you the same Bill that is posting on the SmokeStak sight? I think we are having a simular conversation over there.

Hi... I am the one that sent you the info for obtaining a complete copy of the manual ...along with other valuable info. Hopefully you have already received it or perhaps your e-mail has considered it spam. E-mail me direct at [email protected].

My best, luthier (Bill Pivacek)
