Recently purchased an old 2 cycle Detroit Engine Works Marine Engine. It's about 2' high and 14" wide, probably a 2-3 horsepower (I tried to post pictures but evidently too big). I'm hoping someone out there might share any information they have about it. I have a few specific questions. Looking at some posted pictures on the message board it looks like there should be either a double oiler or one more than I have in order to feed the crank case (mine just has one oiler that attaches to the left of the carburator but it has an open pipe fitting on the crank case to the left of the fly wheel). Is this correct? Would you put 2 stroke oil in the oilers? What mixture in the gas and should it be 2 stroke oil? I'd be happy to send photos via email to anyone who'd like to see it, it's a pretty little engine. Any other information such as year, history, manuals, etc. would really be appreciated!
Thanks.
Thaks

Jim,
Send me your pics and I will post them for you.
Also you can use the search function at the top and search for Detroit. There is a lot of info here on various Detroit engines.
Hope this helps
Ernie

Sure would like a close up photo of the exhaust/water manifold. Need to build ne for my Detroit. Building a 13'6" skiff so it can go for a ride.
