Help!! My trusty old simplex 3hp single has just expired. It spontaneously lost all compression (Mid Brisbane River) and cooling water is coming into the cylinder. Ive got the engine out of the boat and onto my bench but have not yet commenced the autopsy. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement cylinder head???? Gearco in Seven Hills Sydney has a full range of 6-7 and 10-12HP simplex stuff but only a few bits and pieces of the 3HP, alas no head.
By the way, I got some Epigen epoxy (as Peter Ogborne recommended) to seal a crack in the outer jacket, but hadnt yet tried to repair it. Luckily I didnt waste my time now the cylinder is gone. The rest of the old donk is fine. I am in brisbane. |

My condolences Steve ........I will keep my eyes open but when i move to my new home I have great expectations as to an untapped source ! |

i have recently acquired a 2 cylinder 4 stroke marine engine and gearbox marked simplex vancouver bc. Does anone have information on this or the manufacturer? |
