Just came upon this engine mfgr that I have never seen listed anywhere before . First engs were made in 1900-01, open bell shaped lower end that reminds me of steam engine heritage, two stroke, must not have been reversable, came with a reverse gear ! 1901 ad |

I see two crossheads so it probably had a concentric charging piston on the bottom or else it was double-acting?? Those 2 cylindrical objects low down on the side might be rotary intake valves because I think I see the carb feeding up through them?? |

You would think that a 44" Dia. 50" pitch prop would get the boat up over 8mph? I realize that's not a speed prop (ha ha) T |

with a 25% slip, a 50 in pitch prop at 300 rpm is about 10 mph miro |
