I just picked up a Frisco Standard in pretty good shape, as with all of the marine engines in these parts its been run in the salt water. Is there any way to nuetralize or get the salt out of the steel?

Just don't let the water jacketed parts dry out if you do it will slowly be destroyed by the salt in the pores of the water jacket picking up moisture from the air and expanding just like freezing. I have no idea how to stop that action once it starts. I always put auto anti freeze in the jackets of salt water cooled engines. No water just straight anti freeze. It has nothing to do with freezing it is just a lot less messy if you get a leak. The old timers used old motor oil to accomplish the same protection.

is my ignitor different than yours? I know this homemade trip that the previous owner made is all wrong.
