Does anyone know about these? I have a two-cylinder (TJDM, I think), that I'm considering fixing up. Thanks for any information. |

Alan, Are you sure that is the model number...? I have heard of the following as marine Wisconsin models...
- ACN, BKN
- AENL
- TH,THD
- VE4, VF4
- VH4
I am sure there are some air cooled experts that will jump in and help you out. Regards, Andrew |

The TJD is the same engine as the THD only the cylinders fire 1/4 revulotion apart then coast for 1 and 3/4 revulotion, just like an old John Deere. They definetly sound differant, but with the pistons traveling oppisite each other they are supposed to be less vibration. All parts are the same except the crank, cam, mag. |

Thanks for the info. The actual model is TJM. Seems pretty much like a normal Wisconsin except for no governor, a flame arrestor, and a special crank. I think this is a model where the pistons go up and down together. Used to be Wisconsin would send manuals for almost any engine, no matter how old. But I have the impression the company has pretty much faded away. I can make it work, but think it would be too damn noisy to enjoy very much... Thanks again. am |

Thanks for this info. I have a model TFM. Does anyone know how to get the transmission input gear off the crank? It seems to be pressed on with a key.... The engine can't finish coming apart until this gear comes off. Thanks for any info. |

A LOT of heat. I have done several Wisconsin rebuilds. You have to heat the gear to get it off and also heat it to get it back on. Be carefull of the bushing in the center of the crankshaft. It is bronze and won't melt, just make sure you do not damage it with what ever you use for a puller after you heat it. To reainstall the gear I heat it red in the area where it will be on the crankshaft. Then I use a lead hammer to put it on. Just make sure to do it quick. If you don't get it all the way on, you will have to remove it and start all over again. Hope this helps Ernie |
