A friend has what he believes is an old 1908 Jensen lifeboat whose engine is from United States Motor Corp., with a model number OK4. This is a single cylinder gas engine. He is wondering if it is worth rebuilding. Has anyone heard of this, or know anything about this engine company? |

Yes I have heard of them. In fact I have a United States Motor Corp engine 1-3/4 HP I bought sometime back. It is a 1948 AM1 and has never had oil or gas put in it. All original and still has the red tag warning to fill with oil before starting. John Smietana here in Louisiana has a restored five horsepower USMC. Not sure of the model. If your friend is not interested in rebuilding it I would consider purchasing it from him. e-mail me at [email protected] |
