The carbie is T model ford and I think it had low tension ignition.There is two plugs per cylinder, over head inlet valves ( through the inlet manifold ), side valve exhaust and it is four stroke with no heads. I have a suspicion that this is an English engine. I'v seen a similar one in Geelong driving a farm pump and it was an Elliot made in coventry about 1960... for what it's worth
