I am new to the group. And I am new to this wooden boat. It came with briggs and stratton engine that isn't running at this point.

I really like the shift lever with twist throttle. I am hoping someone on the list. Can point me in the right direction on more info. Such as who made this type of thing, info on rebuilding, replacement of the table, sources for rubber grip which is deteriorated, and any other words of warning.

Thank you in advance, be patient with me, i will post pictures when I figure that part out

Step 1 - learn how to upload pictures. You have to learn how to obey the limit on the file size - it's not difficult - and it helps keep the costs of this "free" web site under control - hosting costs are not ZERO !

Step 2 I wonder if you really need a twist grip type throttle control. On virtually all small boats the throttle is a adjustable but fixed when set control. After all your boat isn't moving very fast , in fact it's usually a slow boat ride.

I expect that your engine is a variation of the small engine that Briggs and Stratten made for other applications eg lawn mowers with parts that are interchangeable. Again, pictures will assist immensely.
