I have a St Lawrence model XA serial 7908 and need to know how to remove the output shaft flange to get to the thrust bearing.
There is a key that has no gib head and has been driven in flush with the shaft. Do you heat up the flange and put a wheel puller on it and pull it off?

That's about the only way to do it, short of machining off the hub and making a new one.

Thanks Miro, We were able to remove the output flange with a wheel puller and a little heat.
The crankshaft and connecting rod are now on the way to a machine shop to be repaired. I hope to have the engine running late this year.
