I have restored a 1918 Navy marine 2 cycle/2cylinder engine. I am looking for help in finding the right fuel ratio to make it run. I have tried 16 to 1 and 20 to 1 though it starts it does not run for long with sputtering and back firing. Help with getting the right fuel ratio would be greatly appreciated. |

16 to 1 should work good good. If it is sputtering and backfiring it is most likely lean. Fuel to oil ratios in the area you mention won't change the way it runs. What does it have for a carb? If it is a Schebler there is a ton of info on OME. Hope this helps Ernie |
