It's a Yanmar NTS70R. 3 hp at 900 RPM. A little on the new side, however old US technology. It was made or as the tag says inspected 1/27/64. However it has an exposed reverse gear and a piston water pump CA 40's or earlier from the US. Does anyone have any info? Manuals, Adverts etc I am sure it is brand new. It runs excelent. Here are pics Thanks in advance Ernie

Hi Ernie. That brings back memories! I once owned (around 1984) a pretty 16 ft half cabin clinker launch with one of these in it. I had lots of fun on the Hastings River (Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia). Unfortunately I sold it with all manuals. Very reliable and easy to start. I had to sink the boat, after being out of the water for eight months, to swell the planks. Closed everything up with greasy rags and let it sit for three days. Raised it, drained the fuel and sump, refilled and it started straight away. I seem to remember there was a zinc anode under the top cover plate on the cylinder that needed replacing. Cheers. |
