I got the engine i now know is a Watarman running, with thanks to you guys. Here it is in action, im still learning it..............need to beef up the skid first

Looks and sounds like it is running with a too rich mixture.
That and no load makes small 2 cycle engines tricky to get to run smoothly.
Try leaning the mixture a bit at a time .
You'll know when it is too lean when it backfires.
