Gray's didn't typically have spiked flywheels. There are quite few pictures of Grays on the brand specific section of the Discussion Board. However, better pictures of the engine block will help. I know that shrinking the pictures can be a PITA, If you can send the pictures to me , I should be able to resize them so they show better on the web site. You can send as many pictures to me as you have e.g. fore, aft, both sides, bottom, top , carb , etc. Once we get this part done, you'll find the folks on the web site very helpful miro |

Thanks, Miro for the offer, and thank you Dick for the site. Always wondered how such great pictures were posted on here. Here goes-my attempt of posting some better resized pictures. |

Your engine is a very early early Gray. I have a Gray single that is very similar. Sitting right next to the Gray Single is a DuBrie single that also looks the same. Hope this helps Ernie |

Here is my early Gray Single. Yes that is a patch done by some old timer in some other century. There are about 75 little allen head machine screws holding it one. It has a new piston and connecting rod. In spite of its looks it runs real good

Ernie, thanks for the pictures and links. Think I may make some gaskets, hone the bores, and polish up the crank and pistons. I'll put it together and see if I have compression. The rings are still actually loose, and look pretty good. Think I have a couple of matching mixers, and may be able to rig up a timer-just to see if it will fire. Imagine that parts for it are Rare, but will keep an eye out for two carbs, and pump. Love to see it fire up after 100+ years. Thanks again, TMann |
