Is anyone familiar with this make"Wonder"? it is all I've seen so far, it's cast in the cover on the side of crankcase. This engine is the one I remember from back in the mid 1950's sitting in the basement of grandma's house, it belonged to my uncle and I saved it from possible scrap bin when he passed away some 10 years ago. Other than the "Wonder" name on the side the information I can figure out is it's a two stroke single with 3 1/2 bore and 3 inch stroke and has a Bemus Timer for part of the ignition system. It is in what I would call fair un-restored condition, that is for an engine that has been sitting for over 60 years in basements and barns. Piston was stuck and cylinder a little rusty but only took mild persuasion to get it to move and out of the cylinder. Would like to see if it is possible to get it to run again if at all possible. I am a retired heavy equipment mechanic who has worked on many engines over the years, Cat Cummins and Detroit Diesel and Harley Sportsters and Yamaha XS650's to name a few, almost for got the Briggs and Tecumshe's. So basic engine things should not be a major problem. Oh did I also forget to mention the AC "Bulldog" Mack we revived to running condition? It was much worse condition than this little one lunger! |

Hi Ken, I've seen Wonder engines but don't know a lot about them, pictures would help with I.D. Pictures have to be reduced to post here, easiest way for me is to take them with my phone, email to myself in medium size. If not someone here will offer to post for you. Have you used the search feature at the top, several Wonder engines came up. |

Here is a Wonder that belongs to a friend of mine, don't think it has the correct water pump timer combo. https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=FL-FVcJig6ldVCwPtAfmwqTg¶ms=OAFIAVgB&v=Jf1C e9a8dls&mode=NORMAL |

Does anyone know of a collector of small antique boat motors in the Syracuse New York area? Seems there was someone I had read about but not real sure who it was or how to contact them. I have a mostly complete Wonder engine, believe it is one of the five horse single cylinder models. |
