I picked up this engine this morning and would like to find some information about it. I know that it is an Atlantic and was built in Amesbury Ma. What I don't know is what would the HP be ? Is there a serial # anyplace ? Is this a scarce or common engine ? and around what year would it be ? Thanks Mike

Mike, Atlantic in Amesbury didn't make their engines. I would guess this one is around 6 HP and is some derivative of a Cady made in Canastota, NY. Singles are common but the twins don't show up that often. Hope this helps Ernie |

Thanks Ernie, I kind of like this engine something I may play with it for a wile. It is currently stuck but the old guy I got it from says it wasn't stuck when he got it. It has been indoors high and dry for a long time. Mike |
