Dave sent me home with two Caille twins, a complete engine and "parts engine" missing the intake with valve cages, the water pump, the eccentric, and the connecting strap. When we got home the missing parts were on the shelf, Jamie had found them about 10 years ago at Portland, a deal he couldn't refuse. The pump and valve caps on the manifold are brass, the other engine has a cast iron pump and caps. I read that during WWI a lot of brass parts were switched to cast iron. |
