I had to get my coupling between the prop shaft and clutch replaced as it was badly corroded and unusable. I was recommended to go to the Sydney Heritage Fleet by Andy Munns. It was the best experience!

If you have parts needing replacement or advice I recommend getting in touch with the Heritage Fleet. Ian Roy, who did all the work, created a masterpiece that I am not sure belongs in a boat - maybe in the Pool room! It goes into the boat very soon, along with the Engine.

I recommend everyone in NSW who has an old marine engine or interested in maritime history join the SHF (http://www.shf.org.au/). The membership page is here: http://www.shf.org.au/membership-volunteering/memberships/

Apart from the resources online, there is the added benefit of getting help with crafting new parts. If you use their help, make sure you make a donation to the Heritage Fleet.

Finally, the beautiful work by Ian at the Heritage Fleet has been installed in the boat. The aligning of the engine, clutch and prop shaft took some time but do believe all is good. All I need to do now is adjust the clutch, start the engine and give Sarah a good run. Greasing and oiling all components comes first.
Thanks again Ian.

Hi John,

Looks great. Any chance of a few more pics of the engine and the boat!

Cheers,

Mark

Yes! in about two weeks when all wood back in boat and floor cleaned and engine running with exhaust fixed.
