Looks pretty complete but $750? Seems high to me. |

I'd love to have it. But I also "have too many projects!" |

I don't think the price is too high for this nice seemingly complete un-molested engine based on East coast price norms.. |

Evidently the Craigslist post generated nearly no interest. It was negotiable, fair and now lives in Indiana. The serial Number on it is 56U23607 for the growing list for cross reference. It looks like someone has gone through the engine as the inside of everything is spotless. There are new bolts and nuts on the rod mains. Even the grease cups were fully cleaned out. It was a bit snug when I picked it up, but with a bit of oiling and turning it over, it now has great bounce. I need to work on the float to seal it up, but other than that, it is mechanically ready to start. Depending on the weather, it may get going this weekend. Sandra, the seller is very greatful for the contact being posted on here and the engine getting into circles that it will be running again and shared with interested people. Steve |

I should have asked in my previous post; what is the correct color for these. I have seen so many combinations in photos. With it being mechanically sound, all that is really left for me to do is get it detailed as it would have been when it left the factory. Any insight there is greatly welcomed. Thanks Steve |

Gray Model "U" engines were black. I have an NOS model "U" and it was defiantly black from new. Hope this helps Ernie |

Ernie, Thanks for the quick reply. Was everything less the brass painted the same then? Did they paint the lettering on the flywheels to contrast or is that just something that guys do to make is stand out? Is there a photo of yours in any thread here? Thanks Steve |
