Denis,

I don't have any information on these engines but it looks interesting. How about a pic of the other side.

Jim

I'm still looking for any information about the Sheffield Car Company marine engines built in Three Rivers, Michigan.

I was able to get more pictures of this Sheffield marine engine along with 3 Sheffield ads from 1906.

Make sure to look at the Sheffield pictures here and make your comments:

Thank you very much!

Richard, I read all this about Sheffield but I have found nothing specific to Sheffield's marine engines.

I have a few Sheffield engine ads, all in 1906 with Fairbanks-Morse acting as their sole agent. Fairbanks-Morse continued to sell marine engines for many years after 1906 but these marine engines were completely different than the Sheffield engines.

Anyone have any literature on Sheffield marine engines? Who else has a Sheffied marine engine?

Thanks!

Before the turn of the century Fairbanks-Morse Co.

This article is from Feb 25,1906 MotorBoat

This is a US ad and mentions a catalog 758 SM.

Sheffield has been in my list for many years, but I haven't come across any more info or ads and have never seen another photo of an actual engine.
All ads are 1906 so maybe they really didn't get much of a production and possibly ceased mfg at end of 1906 ??
