Here are some images showing a method I use for limbering up an engine with new rings and bearings. A clamp-on ammeter is shown in the foreground that displays current to the 1/3 HP electric drive motor. Current is a measure of the power required to drive the engine that is being limbered up. As this occurs current reduces to a steady level indicating the engine is run in and ready for final assembly. Oil is added to the cylinder. Barry

That is a great idea, I have a twin 14hp two cycle Caille I'm almost ready to start and it is a bit stiff when turning it over. Think I might do this same thing. Thanks for sharing. |

This is my 1909 Cady getting limbered up. Really helped a lot. I used a lot of oil too. Dick dick |
