Well played around a little with this engine today and Now at least its running. I am sure it will run better with the piston turned around the correct way and the ignition timer stabilized as well as a consistent fuel source and a cooling pump that has check valves. It can only get better from here. Sorry the video clip is so short..........no room on the clip! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5JbBTim5go&feature=youtu.be |

Very nice! Seems like it was running half decent. Any updates? |

Well, No...actually I set it aside, I know it will run so I want to build a decent copper tank for fuel and h2o, and a set of skids. I also want to snug up on the flywheel and turn the piston around, so its probably a tear every bolt off it and start from scratch situation. When I am done it will run nicely I am sure, I could not get the rpm down where I like it and I think the piston orientation is the likely culprit. I will repost when I get it started. If anybody recognizes it as to being built by a particular manufacturer, please let me know, if not I am going to assume its a blacksmith shop engine, or maybe a school or shop project. |
