Might be a few months before I get the Detroit tags. I'll let everyone know when I get them in. Just trying to see how many people are interested. I do not have the time or money to support doing all the different engine companies tags. Only plan on supporting the Detroit family tags. Tags will probably be around $25 dollars each. This is not a money making adventure but simply to help other Detroit collectors with their restorations. Please PM if interested.

Thank you.

Anyone ever see what the early DEW marine engine tags looked like?

Early tag on the left, later on the right.

That black paint would cover up the serial number. Of course, sand blasting it doesn't do much for the name tag, either.

Bill,

Thanks for posting the engine tag photos. I have only seen the raised box & serial numbers stamped into the Sandow engine tags. First Detroit tags I have seen that are stamped and also has the raised box for the serial number. Good info for the website.

These tags are on stationary Sandow engines. Engines that were also produced by the DEW family.

Not to be picky but...Johnny is correct

Neat tag pics Motor Canoe however if someone is looking for the good info that your pic of the tags above has they will have a hard time finding it in this thread.
Might I suggest re posting your pic with the subject Michigan Marine MFR tags.

We all oops and do this from time to time and it would ba s shame for your info to get lost in the shuffle
Hope this helps
Ernie

Received the DEW tags today and they really do look good. As soon I go and purchase some envelopes to ship them in I will let everyone know what the total cost will be for one tag.
