I have A 1 CYLINDER LAUSON I would guess about 3 hp it has some sort of gear box but I have not played with it for years, it could be just a clutch. I can see it but its 10 feet back in the pile. I will try and dig it out next week end |

Would be interested to know, when you reach it, how much it weighs. My wooden boat is only 15' long and I need something light weight. Wondering if the gearbox is a FNR set up. The one I've seen on ebay has that. |

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER LIGHT WEIGHT. This is a cast iron engine and it does look like a gear box. I would guess this to be 90 to 100 lbs. |

Good question. Dick Alcock had suggested a single cyl. Waterman, and you had emailed me about a twin you had. Because the Waterman has a copper water jacket and alum. base the weight was considerably less. Not sure what the weight threshold is. Maybe 90# is over that. THe engine just looked quite small but I can't find any other info on it. Dick had mentioned that a Waterman twin still might be OK for weight. So I wonder how the weight of both of those compares. |

The ad is poor quality and hard to read but it appears the single cylinder Waterman is 36 lbs and the two cylinder 80 lbs.

I have what is probably 2 hp Lauson marine engine. 4 cycle air cooled with a FNR acomplished with belts and a drum. Weights about 55 lbs. I pulled it out and doesn't have spark. I'll see if I can get running. Keith |

My tag list the Model as: RSM807 with a serial no. of 70896. The engine look like yours except the gas tank is mounted on the shroud in the front. Looks like your link indicates my engine is 1-1/2 hp. |
