Hello,
I represent the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, which operates a museum, and I am having some trouble identifying an engine in our collection. It is believed to be a one cylinder gasoline engine, and our records speculate that it is an Easthope. I could not find markings on it anywhere that would indicate this (although I have not been able to move it), but I did find the markings "15 JE6" on an unpainted metal protrusion from the side of the yellow block.

Is this even a marine engine? And if so, does anyone know the manufacturer?

Thank you in advance.

It is not a marine engine and it is not an Easthope. This is a stationary engine that belt drove some farm implement or perhaps a water pump.
Your museum does have some Easthopes though.

Many of the things we use to ID engines have to do with the head, mixer area, a couple pictures of that area will help

Thank you both for your help!
I am aware that we have Easthopes here, and we were fairly certain that this was not an Easthope, but I figured I would consult the experts.

I may try to get a photo of that area.
