Does anyone have a early gas Kahlenberg with a ignitor? I was recently given a rather complete unmolested 8 or 10 hp engine which is missing the ignitor and would like to get sketches of a original or better yet borrow it for a week or two so I can make a pattern and parts. I would sure like to keep this engine as original as possible and not c clamp something together. The stud spacing is 3.156" and the opening in the cylinder is 1.062"x 2.062" Also could anyone hazard a guess on the birthday of this old girl. Many thanks Dick

Lucky you! In more ways than one: Kahlenberg Bros. are still in business in Two Rivers, WI and still have their records. They should be able to tell you when and perhaps for whom this engine was made. They may even have drawings of the igniter from which a replica could be made. Let us know how you make out with. |
