OK I've done it have my lathrop apart and my Otto catalog said he wound grind rings down. and today Mark say I need to order from Niagara $25 each and 6-8 weeks. I need 4 x 9/32 rings is there any other supplyer? Lee |

Order the 5/16 rings and have them ground locally. We usually remove about .030" from the inside of the rings, they are much thicker than the originals, the heavy wall pressure causes too much drag. This makes the engine hard to start and reverse. |

Check your ring lands, if they are worn you can have the pistons machined and use the 5/16 rings. No need to do all four, two compression rings is all most modern engines use, I had a Nissan automobile down several years ago that only had one compression ring and an oil ring. |

my local Mach shop say he'll grind them for me thanks. it's the ezy things we over look thanks Lee |
