The non-original 3HP Dispro Engine in the 18ft Mullins Launch I just purchased needs a new exhaust system. The original "Maxim Silencer" from the Dispro Engine is rusted out. I need about 5 feet of pipe to reach from the threaded female output to the aft port. I need to know what is the best pipe to use (copper, brass, steel?) to run the distance. Also, I need to know where to place the water port into the exhaust? I have read that it should be 4 inches below the exhaust outlet from the engine...is this right?...do I need to put in an elbow or trap?...etc.
Thanks! I am just getting started on this projecta and am totally a rookie!
