A friend just aquired an early 2 1/2hp Motorgo with a lever timer. This engine is made by Lockwood Ash, but appears to be a very early one, serial number 968. I've never seen a L/A-Motorgo with a lever type timer, there's no boss on the cylinder or the base for a timer shaft mount. The timing lever is homemade, of steel, would anyone have a picture of an original so we can try to duplicate it? It also has a Perfection carb, similar to a Schebler, but not reversable, and a butterfly for a throttle, not a slide. Any info available on these? Thanks, J.B. |

J.B. These are scanned copies of copies and may not be of much value but their all I have in file, I'll keep looking. They used the lever on singles and twins but way back pre 1909 I think ??? First engs were made in 1904 ?? |

Richard, thanks for the reply. The third engine looks just like it, his has a carb instead of the mixer, may have been replaced. You must have a huge library of old ads, I appreciate your taking time to look them up. J.B. |
