I have recently helped a friend dig out a Mac Millan Marine engine. It is an unheard of engine over here in New Zealand, so would any of you guys know anything about them. It has no carb, exhaust, or mag on it, so al lot of help will be needed. |

Is that all the info on the engine plate? Correct spelling? I'm currently scanning old English yachting and motor boat magazines for articles of interest on small engines (in particular Stuart Turner - as you may have guessed [chuckle]) and outboards. I did a quick scan at 10 year intervals in the index of advertisers for one magazine (1930 to 1960) and got no hits on that name. Also, did an internet search with no results. Can anyone offer a lead - like country of manufacture?? |

the engine is not small for starters, I dont know if it is called a macMillan or not, but on the plate it says MacMillan of scotland, if that helps any. It is a large single cylinder inboard, it stands a little over a metre tall. |
