I'm sending two pixtures of a brass cast mixer from my Stanley (also the same one I'm looking for for my Emmons inboard). I cleaned the casting with a mild acid and the remains of the old "black" paint turned out to be this green color. I wonder if this is the real old time Stanley color? This was under a steel fitting that nobody would have removed if they were just painting the engine with a brush. I also thought that this might be a kind of non-ferous primer
like zinc chromate?? Any ideas?
