Just found this engine on Kijiji for what seems like a resonable price so I have started to talk to the seller about it with the idea of aquireing it when I go to see my family at Christmans. Anyone got any information on these? Size weight etc. Original advertisments? Value?

Have a look at
www.dippy.ca

The www.disappearingpropellerboat.com web site seems to be not working. There was some good original brochure material on that one.

Value?
If you want it, buy it! These aren't rare, but they aren't common either.
Value is in the eye of the beholder.

This one seems complete except for the badge.

This one looks like a second run production because of the timer. It has a fiber washer screwed to the back of the flywheel with one of the screws making a contact to the ground of the engine.
The first production run did not have this timer. The original timer was not a good design - worked only when new and after a bit of wear, became intermittent.
It has the correct muffler, carburetor, priming cup ( 3 position) , and it should have an acorn nut on the flywheel (easy to replace).

If you can, get the information on the boat that it was installed in - anecdotes are OK.

Thanks Miro. At $475.00 I figure I cannot go far wrong for a running engine. I do like that it is a Canadian Engine.

Did you manage to get any info on the boat that it came out of?
