Here is my Pierce, I was told there were two identical motors at an auction, one with the name tag, one without, and this one, without the tag, sold for a lot less. I was told it is a Pierce, but if you think otherwise, let me know.

Bill, Your collection is right at the top of the list as to the most eclectic array of Old marine Engines ! this engine posted above can be added to the list.I don't believe it to be a Pierce.
One of the rare physical traits of your eng is the vertically split crankcase, plugging that into my data base of North American Marine Engine makers to 1940 with 1830 entries to date I get 12 names, eliminating outboard conversions and copper topped engines only three remain, Waterman and Kowalski and they are the same engine so only one name is left ! C.T. Wright ? They started mfging engs in 1906-07 but I have never seen one of these very early ones or a photo ad !
These engs are not to be confused with Gile engs That Wright started mfging in 1909 or the later Detroits that were rebadged and sold by Wright as well !
This ad below is 1913, some apparent differences, solid flywheel, fuel intake location and whatever waterpump that was on your eng ? If Your engine isn't an early C.T Wright then It will go into the Unknown file for now ? I do have one vertically split engine in my Unknown file belonging to B.Goss but it is a different engine than this ?

A couple of interesting notes:
1) Drip oiler into the cylinder indicates pre-1908 or 9 i.e. pre-oil/gas mix fuel.
2) An interesting boss on top of the cylinder for the spark plug - looks like it always was a jump spark engine

Bill - can you make out if the small pipe with the cap next to the spark plug is original or a later "improvement" ?
