Hi all, new to this site. Bought a stuart P5m 2 stroke water cooled marine engine. It is quite a basket case, seized, missing carb and mag. The gearbox turns over but will be a while before I can get it back to running order. Any ideas on the age? #17481 4hp. Thanks for any help or info

Regs - search this site for Stuart-Turner and you will find a reference to Fairways Marine in downtown England. I think they have a serial number list. |

Hi Regs The information available provides only a rough guide over an 18 year period. Your number is less than halfway through the range. Given the interruption of the 2nd World War it could have been made just after it ended. P5M, P5MC, P5ME 16000 - 19999 May 1936 to Sep 1954 This info came via the STINFOEXCHANGE group on Yahoo |
