Bob, I have a Honda GX160 in a clinker putt putt. Still sorting out some issues re drive line and thrust, but generally it is working well. With a through the hull exhaust. on the water it even sounds like the real thing. I do not have a transmission but have a cone clutch from a blaxland. You can buy a Honda with a reduction box or reduction box with clutch, but it is a centrifugal clutch which needs about 2000 rpm to work, not so good in a boat for manouvering. I am currently playing around with propellor pitch to get the engine performing well. I would be interested in your experience, and how your set up will work? David. |
