Anyone out there have any informtion on this ESSEX engine? ? ? 1cylinder two stoke made in St. John New brunswick. ANY help is appreciated! Larry Healey

Larry, I have seen one of those engines. It was in Chester, Nova Scotia (near where Hawboldt was made). It belonged to a retired schooner captain who had a variety of marine and stationary engines. I know I took a picture of it... but I don't have much of a filing system for my old engine photos.... so cannot readily find it. I recall being impressed with it and also being suprised to see an engine from the "Maritimes" that wasn't a Hawboldt, Atlantic, or Acadia. Regards, Andrew |

Larry: This is the same engine, 1906 Ad. The london agent says they were an international exporter at that time, probably St John new Brunswick was the Canadian Agent. |

Goodday & thanks for the photo--the engine I have is similar,but has a Monarch carb & (from what I can see) a different make & break system Larry |
