* Dick Thanks for the post, the article says it all. In my original list of marine engine mfgrs Atkinson was listed with the wrong spelling, and I didn't tie them to the Etherington Gas Engine Co. with the name change as late as 1946. I understand the difficulty of getting to stored engines ! * |

The article really explains why these engines look so much like Acadia engines. At Mystic my comment was wow the same only different. Richard thanks for bringing it up and Dick thanks for the link Ernie |

This appears to be the original flywheel on our Victor, but it is different than Dick's. Although these few maritime engine companies made very similar engines, by just looking into the boat you could generally tell which of the makers it was by the holes in the flywheel; hearts, circles or teardrops.
