They have a very profound look about them, Do you have something alittle more difficult? I have my IQ turned all the way up to 80 (upper limit) so test me |

Richard, There was a quiz in one of the old RUDDER or MOTORBOAT magizines. It showed about twenty different motors and readers had to identify them. If you could find that quiz you could post it... I don't recall the year or month off hand. If you are not familiar with it I could take a look in my collection... don't post the year/month here... |

The New Way engine pictured was built in the 20's. I just restored one. It is a model CR rated 5HP. The engine was a first attempt of building an air-ooled self contained engine. The flywheel has six spokes but is covered by a tin shield. Behind the flywheel is a bolted on squirrel fan to direct air thru shrouding and over cylinder head. The "F" style head has removeable valve cages. There are not many of these engines left! Engine was painted "Royal Blue (Krylon) with silver cylinder. The cylinder was cast as discs stacked on rods about the cyl bore. This formed air fins. Engine started on gas and ran on kerosene. I don't have the original carburetor (I was told same as early chevrolet?) or the 2 compartment fuel tank. The ignition is a horseshoe style American Bosch mag. Runs great. (I suspected this engine could be used in marine application ; mine has a detachable base for ag use. Engine had a belt pulley. )I have posted photos. RESTOGREEN\popjpeg {102916,New Way CR} |
