Hello Nick...the s/n 1842 should read D1842 and is an 8-10 HD (heavy duty). A large engine with a 6" bore. This engine was made (finished) on May 29, 1930. It was rebuilt by Bill Easthope a few years ago for the Brittania Heritage Shipyard in Steveston, BC. Bill Easthope is one grandson of the founder and the last Easthope in the business. TA48981 is a 2 cylinder 10-14 HP. The serial numbers usually have only 4 numerals after letters. In this case the engine was rebuilt, again by Bill Easthope who said he added the 1 to indicate a rebuild. TA4898 was built Dec. 19, 1945. cheeres........Joe |
