Please can anyone give me an idea of what type of Evinrude this is, and when was it made? The drive appears to come from a black painted shaft above the base, but why does it look as though it hinges? I have never seen one like this before. |

Im going to reach here with a guess, This looks like a 2 cylinder Evinrude rowboat motor designed to go through the bottom of the boat where the lower unit would be mounted, They also made vertical water pumps, but the lower housing looks different on those |

Apparently the there is nothing but the enginge base under the square base, no drive shaft or take off. The drive shaft is definitely the horizontal black painted one.Is it from the 20's? The other little Evinrude on the edge of the picture is the top half only of a 'Row boat' outboard motor. 1910-15? The flywheel on this is the same as had been fitted to my Caille 'Bantam', but the coils are shot, and I can't get them rewound. may have to use a buzz box. I hope to get more details in a couple of weeks time. |

I have got the Evinrude twin home, together with the reversing propellor shaft. The engine has external oil and water pumps. The prop shaft is hollow and 1.25" diameter with the control shaft running through the middle. The reversing propellor is 2 bladed, 15" diameter. The drive shaft from the engine is also hollow. The prop shaft fits snugly into it, and is able to be keyed etc. The control shaft fits through the middle of the engine and must have connected to a control mechanism/qadrant os some kind? Has anybody anything to help on this, or who to write/email/website who may be able to help? |
