hey i need some help. got an old ( not sure of any dates with this one ) jcpenny 5.5 engine. just getting started with it. it looks to be in good shape. and has good compression. that is all i know so far. does any one know anything about these engines. it has a notice on the gas tank "leaded fuel only" so --- must be a pre '73 huh? i would like to know if it is worth fixin and are there any parts left out there |

J C Penneys ordered their motors from other venders and put their name on it. Off the top of my head I do not know which manufactor made your motor but you can follow this link and ask a member of the antique outboard motor club.
